The San Antonio Scorpions played their first ever home match in the North American Soccer League (NASL) vs. the Puerto Rico Islanders at a sold out Heroes Stadium of 13,151.

Fresh off the recent 2012 George Washington University SINC Conference, where PMI Managaging Partner Mark Washo participated on the College Athletics Sports Business panel with Patrick Nero Athletic Director of GW, Mark will be guest speaking and making the following conference appearances in the next couple of months. Mark hopes to see many friends, colleagues and job seekers in the NCAA and sports business at upcoming events and conferences.  Along with PMI duties, guest speaking and conference appearances, Mark is also currently an adjunct Professor this semester for Georgetown University’s Masters SIM Program.

Former FC Dallas Stadium general manager Michael Hitchcock is developing a new North American Soccer League facility in San Antonio tied to a noble cause, special-needs children.

In a deal thought to be a first in pro sports, 100 percent of all net proceeds from operations tied to the San Antonio Scorpions will go to the operation of Morgan’s Wonderland, a theme park customized for disabled kids. The Scorpions are in their first year as an NASL club.

SAN ANTONIO – The start of construction this spring on a 6,100-seat, state-of-the-art stadium constitutes another major stride forward as the San Antonio Scorpions FC, San Antonio’s new professional soccer team, prepares for entry into the North American Soccer League (NASL).

“Scorpions Community Stadium will be a premier sports and special-events venue when it opens for the 2013 season,” said Gordon Hartman, founder of Soccer for a Cause, the community-wide effort to grow soccer in Greater San Antonio as well as benefit non-profit Morgan’s Wonderland family theme park.  “In the meantime, we’re making tremendous progress on all fronts as we get set for the Scorpions’ first NASL home game just a dozen short weeks away on April 15.”

Morgan’s Wonderland believes in miracles because it’s witnessed so many in just two years of operation.  Now another miracle is about to be performed by Morgan’s Wonderland, the Scorpions, and the hit ABC-TV reality show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE).  They are all joining forces to build a new home in a week’s time for one of several deserving families in Greater San Antonio.

The Santa Clara partnership will send PMI College Fan Development Executive (FDE), Greg Harris to the Santa Clara Athletics Department to create personalized fan relationships during the engagement. PMI Managing Partner Mark Washo joined a very distinguished and select group of guest speakers to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of RFK stadium. Washo shared the podium with guests such as DC Mayor Vincent Gray, DC United President Kevin Payne, and former Redskin Super Bowl winner Charles Mann. 

Mark was able to share his thoughts tied into the theme of "I remember" -- where he shared memories of his first Redskins game, first DC United home game of 36,000 fans, first MLS CUP 1997 sell out, and several Washington Freedom home game memories and current DC United games attended by PMI Sports Supporters.

PMI College is pleased to announce new partner, the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.  The bowl game will be played in Dallas-Fort Worth at Ford Stadium at 11 AM on December 30, 2011.  PMI College will activate professional, proactive outbound strategies to market, promote and sell tickets from PMI Fan Development offices in Frisco, Texas and Gaithersburg, Maryland for the game.

On September 17, 2011 Actress Eva Longoria unveiled the Official Scorpions Away Jersey at the Second Annual Free to Soar Gala at Morgan's Wonderland. PMI Founding Partner Michael Hitchcock was there to unveil the jersey with Longoria. The 2012 San Antonio Scorpions Away Jersey was selected by Scorpions Fans through the "Select Our Away Jersey" Text Campaign.
