Morgan’s Wonderland believes in miracles because it’s witnessed so many in just two years of operation.  Now another miracle is about to be performed by Morgan’s Wonderland, the Scorpions, and the hit ABC-TV reality show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE).  They are all joining forces to build a new home in a week’s time for one of several deserving families in Greater San Antonio.

The fortunate wounded-warrior family’s identity won’t be known until January 14th, but it’s definitely going to be a life-changing experience for everyone in that household.  What a thrill it will be when EMHE team leader Ty Pennington surprises the family with his legendary loud and enthusiastic “good morning” greeting!

Gordon Hartman, owner of the San Antonio Scorpions, who was a successful builder before becoming immersed in the creation of Morgan’s Wonderland and other causes to help those with special needs, is using his three decades of construction expertise to assemble a homebuilding team and coordinate the team’s efforts.

The project requires hundreds of craftsmen and community volunteers donating their time and talents.
Those who wish to volunteer for this once-in-a-lifetime project, help sponsor it or contribute money or resources can click one of the buttons to the right. In addition to the skilled trades, volunteers will be needed for general-labor assignments such as registration, serving food, safety, traffic control and site clean-up. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

“Just like EMHE, Morgan’s Wonderland is all about changing lives for the better,” Hartman said.  “We’re honored and pleased to be tackling this challenge, which is another exciting chapter in the unfolding story of Morgan’s Wonderland.”

This project marks the first time in nine TV seasons that a non-profit like Morgan’s Wonderland and the Scorpions have taken an EMHE project lead.  Why is the world’s first ultra-accessible family fun park designed for those with special needs in mind and built to be enjoyed by everyone so proud and pleased to be collaborating with EMHE?  Because time and time again, Morgan’s Wonderland and the Scorpions have proven founder Hartman’s favorite saying:  “Together, we can make a difference!”
